Choir. Our school music department sponsors an extra-curricular choir program for all interested 4th and 5th graders. 5th graders have choir in the fall and 4th/5th graders have choir in the spring. Each choir performs for the school, parents and community.

Chess Club. Our school has an after-school chess club for interested students. This club operates with the help of parent volunteers. Any student K-5 is welcome.
Safety Patrol. Selected 5th graders are invited to serve on the Ward Safety Patrol. These students help direct pedestrians and students to ensure safety during drop-off and pick-up times.
Student Council. Each 5th grade class elects a few student representatives to serve on the Student Council in addition to 5 elected officers. Their activities include meetings, one fundraiser and leadership in various happenings throughout the year.
Art after school. This program is offered for a fee and is sponsored by UH Clear Lake. It takes place at Ward Elementary and information goes home with all students in the Tuesday folder on how to sign up.
